Health Data Integration
- HealthKit (iOS): With your permission, we integrate with Apple HealthKit to sync step count and burned calories data
- Google Fit (Android): With your permission, we integrate with Google Fit to sync step count and burned calories data
- Important: Health data is read from these platforms but never uploaded to our servers. All health data remains on your device.
Subscription Information
If you subscribe to NeroLens Premium, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We use RevenueCat as our subscription management service to verify your subscription status and manage premium features. RevenueCat receives minimal information (user ID and subscription status) necessary to provide premium functionality. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card details or financial information.
How We Use Your Information

Local Storage
NeroLens uses SQLite database technology to store your data locally on your device. This includes:

Cloud Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Gemini AI (Firebase Vertex AI): Food images and text descriptions are sent to Google's Gemini AI for nutritional analysis including macros and micronutrients. Google's privacy policy applies to this data processing.
- RevenueCat: Subscription status verification and premium feature management. RevenueCat's privacy policy applies.
- Firebase Analytics: Anonymized app usage data to improve features and user experience. Google Firebase privacy policy applies.
- Firebase Crashlytics: Error logs and crash reports to identify and fix bugs. Google Firebase privacy policy applies.
- HealthKit/Google Fit: Health data sync for steps and burned calories (data remains on device, not uploaded).

Important: Food images sent for AI analysis are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers. We do not retain copies of your food photos.

- All Other Features: Full access to calorie tracking, water intake, micronutrients, step goals, and statistics
Premium Subscription
- Unlimited Scanning: Unlimited AI-powered food analysis
- Unlimited AI Chat: Unlimited conversations with Nero AI Coach
- All payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and unlock premium features
- We never collect or store your credit card or payment information
- Subscription management (cancellation, renewal) is handled through your device's app store
- Refund requests should be directed to Apple or Google, depending on your platform
Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- AI Processing: Food images and descriptions are sent to Google Gemini AI (Firebase Vertex AI) for nutritional analysis

Children's Privacy
NeroLens is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
International Data Transfers
When you use certain features, your data may be processed by third-party servers located outside your country of residence:
- Google (Firebase Vertex AI, Analytics, Crashlytics): AI analysis, analytics, and crash reports may be processed on Google's global infrastructure
- RevenueCat: Subscription verification data may be processed on RevenueCat's servers
